Al Fateh Underground Cabling

This challenging project, Algihaz Contracting’s first in the Bahrain market, involved a complicated underground power upgrade required for the extension of Al Fateh Street, the largest and most crowded thoroughfare in Bahrain City. In particular public and workforce safety were key challenges of the project. The project was completed in two phases. Phase 1 required the installation of a 220kv circuit 2.5km in length. The second phase involved the installation of two 66kv underground cables with a total length of 1.5km. Even with a tight 9 and a half month schedule under contract, Algihaz was able to successfully complete the project one month ahead of schedule.
